I highly suggest you read Leviticus 18:21.

Leviticus 18:21 (LSB, but most other translations say the same thing)
"And you shall not give any of your seed to pass them over to Molech, nor shall you profane the name of your God; I am Yahweh."

In this verse we can see that God (a.k.a. Yahweh) commands the Israelites to not offer and sacrifice any their children to Molech, this was mainly because of the fact the Israelites were influenced by the Cannanites and their false "gods", and the Israelites also started sacrificing their own children to said false "gods".
