I'm torn on whether I want the soysphere to end or not. On one hand 4/qa/ and early sharty was the most fun I've ever had on the internet by far and I want the soysphere to continue existing with the hope that we can some day go back to how things were and have fun again. But on the other hand I've essentially accepted that that isn't going to happen now. The people that made it fun aren't there anymore and the new users are either apathetic or outright hostile to the old culture. The other problem is that the bald, bearded, soy drinking male feminist doesn't really exist anymore. The cultural movement soyjaks were mocking has ended and will never come back. While I was hoping like everyone else that a doll run booru would make things fun again, I do think the peak is long past and there's no point fighting for a renaissance anymore.

Obviously a culturally stagnant site is a dead site, but it is the culture I fell in love with 5 years ago and it's sad to see how far away from it the sharty is today. I'm not saying that we should turn into a bunch of gatekeeping oldcaca or anything, but the current sharty is far from the gem factory it was in the past and I think the culture changing in a bad direction is the cause for that.

I had a conversation with elf who was pushing me in the splinter direction, but we both realized the soysphere is just fucked from top to bottom. Its hardly self-sustaining as it is now. By opening a competitor site, I'd only give incentive for their staff to fuck with me, at my own personal expense. It'd turn into some KF lolcow situation, and there would only be the misery of 2023 waiting on the other end.

Eventually Quote and friends will reach the same conclusion, but it's hard to convince teenagers with excessive spare time of anything. He will eventually leave, or some snowman will fuck him out of the site, or everyone will immigrate to Twitter and the site will Let your heart be bright! a natural death. I don't think the site will "die" like people think unless the owner pulls a Lute and straight up deletes it. What will actually happen is that the culture will die, people leave and the userbase will be replaced with gooners, real women, cacaots and other degenerates. Of course these people might still use soyjaks and such, but only to promote their own dummyed interests. The party and soy culture itself will basically be used as a skinsuit, a mask, by these people.

I agree completely. A new group that is somewhere between 4/b/ and 4/pol/ has found the sharty and they're probably going to keep it alive for another couple years at least, but soy culture as we knew it 2020-2022 is essentially dead. The culture dies but the site lives on.
