>Sorry ribbon. If it makes you feel better, it was never in the creepy sexual way and I would genuinely want to form a healthy relationship with you. But I'm not the man for this task.

MiSTER FPGA

I've seen this shilled on 4cuck over the past few months and I'm on the fence about it all. The FPGA can play all of the consoles I adore and have been meaning to get to (Sega Saturn JP-exclusives.) with pixel perfect accuracy unlike the current software emulation options. With the built-in and optional features and upscalers, it's quite the sell considering how cheap the pre-made chinese models are. But here's the thing, it's all nothing I can't do already on my desktop at the cost of shit accuracy and extra wattage. Does anyone have any tidbits or opinions to throw in before I consider getting one?

Dunno, only really seems useful if you're a freak about accuracy
Honestly the better buy is a CRT for era-compatible display
I've been looking to get my hands on a CRT for years but my mother refuses to let me one in spite of my father understanding the benefits with motion clarity and the like. The eBay market in Ireland is over-priced out the arse, the Facebook Marketplace is barren, DoneDeal is barren and the local recycling centers forbid taking anything. That's why I mentioned the shaders built-in to the FPGA unit.

Yeah then it makes sense, though i think it relies on you using an OLED or suchlike
An FPGA makes some more sense in your scenario

@cargo isn't ireland Eurozone?
If you really need to you could try having a cheaper secondhand CRT from like Germany or something be mail proxied to you
Doesn't matter my mother would complain and I don't want to make her upset. I appreciate the advice though. Even if I went and got one regardless of her judgement, I'd get chewed out once it appears at the front doorstep.

who the fuck spends $200 on a piece of junk like this?
To make a long winded thought-process short. I primarily play retro vidya and I want the best experience. I'm willing to shill over $150 after coupons for a piece of tech that'll serve said purpose for years. Most consumer single board computers like the RPi absolutely stink at accurate emulation.
