im working on a custom OS using Writing an OS in Rust (https://os.phil-opp.com/) as a source, i really underestimated this. It worked fine and wasn't that much of pain in my ass until i decided to make it a GUI OS. I might give up on it and just continue to develop my Engine.

Evendoe literally just works and has options for different official sources like backports stable testing and unstable which all exist for a reason
I see it like many distro's are based off Debian so why not use the original
