I don't know how I feel about Linux anymore, there's so much crap on the market and nearly all of it blows big time. SystemD is a bloated mess, Wayland is a buggy featureless slog and cooperations are slowly seeping into everything surrounding the kernel. Every distribution that doesn't have the former has a catch of some kind, whether that be lacking package repositories, over-complicated pedantic gimmicky nonsense, or a lack of maintenance. The addition of Rust doesn't bother me, but I can see the concern. I'm starting to believe that a spin of BSD may be the future of liar-free white-man computing bliss, or perhaps I'm off the mark entirely.

BSD doesn't have vidya so im not using it twin 🤣✌️

I dont see the point in daily driving FreeBSD or the alternative since its 10x more obscure than linux

That's why I use Gentoo with Openrc instead of Systemd. The over reliance on Systemd is so bad. Also forcing GPL licensing everywhere keeps corporations cucked and neutered

It has its own very specific use cases. Most people on here, who probably don't do anything more complicated than browse the Internet or play vidya on their computers, don't really have a need for installing alternative operating systems like FreeBSD. From the "About" page (2 clicks to open btw):
>FreeBSD makes an ideal Internet or Intranet server. It provides robust network services under the heaviest loads and uses memory efficiently to maintain good response times for thousands of simultaneous user processes.
Personally I don't think it's meant to be an universal OS like how Windows or certain mainstream Linux distros are. I myself have been using Windows since forever because I don't need to bother with anything more complicated for my use cases. It serves me very well, even W11 which is horrendously bloated can still be improved on if you try to debloat (kek) it.

Linux is a tool. If you don't need it there is no point in using it. Most linux users claim to value the privacy and whatnot but they also use linux on computers with backdoored CPUs and internet access? Basically larpers.

Most people do not want zogged companies collecting data. You're describing people who's threat level is high and want total anonymity for whatever shit they're doing.

Plus Intel ME and similar technologies are SNCA in the grand scheme of things in regards to privacy. eg. Ross Ulbricht got caught because he was an autist who brought up references to his then-obscure drug site to airport security, and because he left his laptop unattended to speak to obvious federal agents. Patching Intel ME out of your system won't do shit if you don't know basic OPSEC.
