seems like it goes down to windows 7 only
I want to eventually install windows ME
is it too old? I really feel like real womaning out OS-wise now ;(
The lowest viable Windows in the current year is XP thanks to One Core API. Anything beneath that and you may start running into hardware limitations if I’m not mistaken. Try running ME on bare metal if you want, but I doubt it’ll be smooth sailing.

Let me tell you a story. Now, I’m not sure if they’ve upgraded by now but this old preparatory school has/had some class computers which ran on Windows Vista.

I’m not sure if you’ve ever worked in the education sector’s system department, but their server room was an absolute mess. This institution as I can recall was incredibly expensive to enroll in.

my middle school used windows xp with active directory or something along these lines
vista is high tech

I was in the server room of my town hall, it was just a single server in a very small room. Kinda funny. They still had computers running vista and that was 2021.

It’s understandable since those are publicly funded institutions but I am pretty sure this prep school was 5-10k per alumni each year. Most of the computers were at least from the early 2000s. I understand it now really, it’s all the pupils ever needed. Nowadays you have those kids on chromebooks.
