I had a dream I somehow set my alarm for the past, and I woke up in my old bedroom at my mom's house in 2017 (which, it was the wrong house for 2017 but I didn't notice)
It was a very particular memory, too. I checked my room out a bit, kind of panicked about having to go through the next 9 years, but decided it would be better that way.
I was a lot more optimistic than I was in 2017 and tried to make things better.
After the main part of that memory played out, I realized I was dreaming, so I tried to go to bed so I would wake up in 2026 before the dream got too good.
I ended up waking up still in that house in 2017, so I decided it was all real. Also I fell asleep in my mom's bed because it was closest, but "realizing" it wasn't a dream, I panicked thinking that my mom would assume I was on drugs since I passed out in her bed in the middle of the day.
I went back to my room and just kept going through my stuff. I remembered that I vaped back then, so I found that and started realizing I would have to go back to figuring out how to get pods without any money and without being 18. Thinking about that, I panicked, I had already decided earlier that I would swear-off drugs "this time around" and finding my vape made me realize i had already started by that point.
I took a quick "inventory" of my life up to then, and I realized I shouldn't have to worry about withdrawal or anything, so I was really happy. I'm just now realizing that my older brother wasn't in this dream at all evendoe i was hanging out with him every day at 17.
I was a dick to my little brother at 17, so I decided to spend some time with him and be nice. I know it's just a dream, but that kind of makes me think about how I was a dick for no reason and how easy it would have been to just be kind.
I'm also now realizing that I seemingly wasn't in highschool in this dream when I should have been, and that my room obviously looked like my girlfriend had already moved in evendoe she wouldn't have yet and was no where to be seen. Also, my cat would have been there.
Anyway, I mostly just hung out with my mom and little brother and was glad I had the chance to fix things.
Pretty cool dream that was extremely detailed. I really felt like I somehow managed to go back in time.
Also, even if it was just a dream: how easy it was to just "do the right thing" made me appreciate who I am today and how it's second nature to not fuck up as much. I dwell on mistakes and bitch about it all, but I can't change it, so I need to stop that. All I can do is focus on what those mistakes taught me going forward, because "woe is me" dummyation just spoils the life I have today. It's over (in the good way).
