As someone who likes linux mind you, I personally believe linux has failed on the desktop and here is why.

>Most Distros require you to learn the terminal which the user does NOT want to do.
>It's community can be very insufferable.
>It's marketshare is around 2%
>downloading a single fucking package can cause your system to crash and die in some distros.
>not many companies or software offically support it
>it's mainly all about identity politics and whatnot.

tl;dr desktop linux can be difficult and hard and its community tends to shitfling on others.

>Most Distros require you to learn the terminal which the user does NOT want to do.
That's if you are very tech illiterate and you're too dummyed to do basic simple commands on the terminal. If a windows user spends a couple of minutes of terminal commands (after all most of the commands are abbreviations) then he'll realize that he's been fed anti-real womanix LIES. Also most distros have a GUI alternative way of doing anything
>It's community can be very insufferable. ✔️
>It's marketshare is around 2%

It's actually 4-5%, even if most of the newcomers are steamdeck users that is something
>downloading a single fucking package can cause your system to crash and die in some distros.
Meds? This is almost aways due to user error. I don't think this happens on stable distros anyway
>not many companies or software offically support it There HAS been increasing support for linux, usually the ones who don't support it are 2 lazy and dummyed. Plus the cause of this is due to windows being a monopoly and pre-installing windows on every laptop/pc.
>it's mainly all about identity politics and whatnot.
SNCA
I had to rush this

>>Downloading a single packahe can cause your system to crash
Some distros like ubuntu uses pretty old ass packages and not fully up to date due to it being also based on debian unlike fedora or arch, And mint one time crashed. Linus Tech Tips attempted to install steam on pop_os. And it destroyed his entire os.

Also i forgot to mention, nvidia on linux is kinda scuffed, You cant even undervolt your gpu. And some programs such as stuff for college like the lockdown browser will not work on linux.

More like the opposite, debian and its counterparts are stable enough to never cause problems while the bleeding edge updates from arch based systems aren't thoroughly tested enough.

stuff like virtualization is js such a hot mess in the newer kernels

Hmm... ill probably use it if i get me a thinkpad, i aint saying linux is le heccin bad. But it is good but kinda flawed.

linux just isnt for everyone, i dont think there's ever gonna be a day where you'll see college white girls using debian. it requires a commitment which can end up being very rewarding if you're willing to learn how to use it and adapt from windows or macos. i use windows 10 ltsc but most people i know who use linux seem pretty bright and usually know a lot about technology

Gay dummyed cacaot shit, have you ever watched a normie use a windows pc? They probably can't even navigate the file explorer let alone learn l00nix. Its too much effort for your average guy anyways, notice how its only actual aspies defending linux itt.
