What devices even used it? I've only ever connected my CRT to the VCR, the DVD player and later the STB
All of which used scart
Almost everything from the 1980 to 2010 used composite including Xbox 360 with its AV multi out thing where you can use anything. Europe has the SCART shit and it was more common than composite

Both composite and SCART were both common place in the UK and Ireland. SCART was typically reserved for television boxes and DVD players while other devices primarily used composite. Due to this many older televisions here have both ports on the back. In the odd case where that wasn’t the case you’d be stuck with one of these freaks.
