If Microsoft weren’t ran by the most dummyed of noobs they could’ve used the extra hundred dollars of the Xbox One launch MSRP to subsidize putting SSDs into every Xbox instead of Kinect and a bunch of gay multimedia features. SSDs were still kind of expensive then sure but the prices weren’t going anywhere but down. It’s embarrassing enough that consolecaca had to wait until 2020 (probably longer given how bad the supply was) to get halfway decent storage, especially in a generation where game sizes would balloon like crazy.

I'd prefer waiting on BC and having the SSD from the getgo but this makes more sense, prices would be high enough that even at the $500 price point you'd only get like 250GB in at best which absolutely wouldn't cut it in the years to come
