I was thinking about saving up for a Series X when I get a job but I'll probably just get a storage upgrade SSD for my Series S instead. Maybe I'm a blind noob but 1080p looks fine to me on the 4K 75" TV I play it on.

consoles would've genuinely won if you could still own the shit you buy, the idea of a brick that'll most likely have games that will be optimized for that hardware unlike that of a PC is very big chungus but nope every modern console had to do a big fuck you to that.

genuinely a modded 360 with pirated games is probably all i would need to be happy
my series S has xenia but it's a buggy mess, a solid chunk of the 360 library doesnt even launch. every good video game has already been released.

Console mods outside of those designed for running game copies from more accessible storage formats are genuinely so soy. I got a DreamPSU for my Dreamcast ages ago because I took the word of redditors seriously for once in my life, and to the surprise of no-one, it is absolute junk. It only works after minutes of prodding the power cable before every console boot and even at that, the power going to the console is so underwhelming that it causes issues with the video output causing small visual artifacts.
