Half of storage is already taken up by system files. I went through apps and downloads andonly removed 2 GB, suddenly I lose a GB for whatever reason. Does anyone have a fix? If no, does anyone know any good laptops that cost below $300?

Below $300? Buy a used business laptop. Now. I don't care what brand, HP, Dell, Lenovo, just make sure you're getting an enterprise grade one. Then upgrade it as time goes on.

That is a virtual machine. I refuse to believe there actual 60 GB drives out there in 2025.

Ginormous companies specialized in prebuilts produce hundreds of thousands of these types of (consumer-grade) laptops that are basically obsolete right out of the factory, with non upgradeable RAM, storage, etc. etc. They typically rock dual cores with no hyperthreading (think Celerons or those really low end mobile Athlons) and never have more than 4GB of RAM. You'd be lucky to find one that uses actually good storage interfaces like SATA or NVMe.

just go on OLX lil bro. It's what I always do whenever I want to buy these types of machines. If there are no good listings available, WAIT. A good deal will come by eventually. A lot of laptops that are listed as being "for parts only" have really easy-to-fix problems that even a monkey could solve on his own.
