The real reason this rumor began is because, obviously, Claus is an ftm transgender.
Gender reassignment surgery was in it's infancy back in Claus's day, and they still couldn't properly replicate AMAB testicles artificially, so the resulting "Claus sack" would have given the appearance of only having one testicle.
