The "Church" I'm talking about is anyone who tries stealing power from God and taking it for themselves.
That's what's going on with all these cults.
You can't put me on the defensive about
>but Joseph Smith did this! or
>Leo did this! because I refuse to attach myself to any of them, none of them are worthy of loyalty.
They try to excommunicate you from God with their confessions and catechisms and lie about being necessary to have faith.
They enslave you and give nothing in return.
My faith is in Jesus Christ and no one else.
I think there's importance in understanding what a profession of faith, a catechism, is. Historically even.
It's used to define things clearly.
Aka, God is this, not this. Faith is this, not this. And you can't claim this to be true when it is clearly not.

Take the Trinity for example. As a theological truth, we modern people take it's meaning for granted, but historically, getting it to be the main understanding of God was a hard fought battle.

Sure, the Evangiles mention the Father the Son the Holy Spirit. but nothing more.
Who are they to each other ? What is their relation to one another ? Their nature ? Is one of them God, or are all God ? Is one of them, the Father, really God, and the Son and Holy Spirit just aspects od something else ?

You take for granted the understanding of One God Three Persons but it really is not intuitive. And today mind yoy, people have educations. Back then, you had one person with education who could teach hundreds without educations and get them to believe whatever he said.

Hence the importance of catechism. Back then, heresies like those were widespread and rampant, and this served to maintain the truth.
