Kubo's biggest writing issue is that he writes villains that are too sreal womang, so he doesn't know how to get rid of them and has some unsatisfying asspull. Mugetsu(this one is the least bad), the weapon that exactly countered Lillie Barro's abilities, Yhwach absorbing Gerard Valkyrie like a braindead dummy, even though he pretty much couldn't have lost if he didn't, and of course, the omega asspull silver arrow. Also, I feel like Kubo kept Gremmie's potential in terms of things he could imagine deliberately vague in order to avoid this issue.
