Generally file systems are a fuckery in linux. Linux itself is really shit when it comes to disks and stuff. Yesterday I mounted a usb stick, got some files on it and wanted to umount it. It just didn't want to. Turns out that the file manager running in the background was blocking the process evendoe I didn't do anything related to the usb stick on it. Only after closing it the stick umounted.
